The Victoria Cohen Eye Cancer Charitable Trust was very excited to announce Dr. Sayed Mansoor Sediqi from Kabul, Afghanistan, as the winner of the Victoria Cohen Scholarship 2024 earlier this year. The purpose of the charity is to support aspiring ocular oncologists who are in need of financial assistance for their training.

Since arriving in Philadelphia at the start of June I have started my fellowship training in ocular oncology at the Wills Eye Hospital under the mentorship of Dr. Carol Shields.

About retinoblastoma Retinoblastoma (Rb) is a type of eye cancer that affects young children, mainly under the age of six. It develops in the cells of the retina, the light sensitive lining of the eye. Around 40-50 cases are diagnosed in the UK every year – approximately one child a week.
